TRANSFORMS

My writing spans many genres, from children's picture books to lifestyle articles to collections of ecological poetry, appearing on television, in art galleries, anthologies, magazines, letterpress print and in the award-winning books, Snowflakes, WA is Water and more.

I’m a hybrid author with traditionally published and independently created work, experienced at creating and designing books from start to finish, acting as editor, art director and publisher.

There's nothing that pleases me more than connecting with readers and writers through story.

What People Are Saying

Snowflakes

“My family and I love this book! . . . It's a keepsake.”

— Katy P

This is a beautiful, delightful, fascinating book about snowflakes, and would be a perfect gift for anyone who adores these unique wonders . . . This book has a charming little story of comparing the uniqueness of a snowflake to a human, AND also in cleverly "hidden" flaps tells the story of the man who discovered (and photographed) the individuality and beauty of snowflakes.

Theres

My daughter, the teacher, found this to be very helpful! Good choice!

The text itself is an homage to artist/photographer Wilson A. Bentley, who discovered that no two snowflakes are the same. But it is also the timeless wondering at Nature’s intricacies and the simple explanation how it works. If you want to give somebody a very special gift – this eye-catcher is definitely IT. Elaborate, filigree, and utterly imaginative, it will lure you into a seeming fairy-tale land that is so entirely real.

Miss Lily’s Wobbilty Bobbilty House

“What a fun and whimsical children's book. It arrived today, and my two year old enjoyed it so much that she wanted to read it multiple times in a row. This is a book that I won't mind reading again and again, because it's full of humor, clever writing, action packed artwork, and unexpected twists. I'm happy we added it to our collection!

Jennifer Preston Chushcoff creates a wonderful, kind character who can't say no. She handles hoarding in a gentle, non-judgmental way. You can't help but love Miss Lily.

A Blaze of Dragons and Other Fairytale Families

This is a very cute, easy to read book! Great book for parents who love spooky stuff but not too scary for children either.

Nicole N

My son (6) loves this book. We enjoy finding all the different things each creature is doing on the pages. It’s fun and clever and leads to the making of your own stories together. There’s a space at the end for the child to make up their own fairytale creature. I love that the author is very good about bringing an interactive element to her books to foster that love of fun and creativity.

This book is a daily pick for my little one! Choosing our favorite adventure land and counting the funny and spooky characters makes it a fun interactive way to get the imagination going! Definitely recommend!

A Collection of Cautionary Tales

Indulge yourself in this Halloween treat for yourself or your spooky-loving children. You will feel delightfully full and satiated on every page, soaking up the colorful vintage illustrations on thick paper. This isn't a book you read all at once -- you savor it like a decadent desert. The reader will want to treasure every illustration on every page... so much to look at!

This is a book you will read every October. It will be a spooky family's favorite.

“ . . . . If the Brothers Grimm had a sister, it would be Jenn.

Marcia Crews

Author of Three Bears of the Pacific Northwest and former children’s librarian

A very surprising, clever, not to mention beautiful, interactive book (ideas for art projects, games) that reminds me of the creepy fun of Edward Gorey.
Would recommend for anyone who loves the gothic.

WA IS WATER

Jennifer Chushcoff does a wonderful job synthesizing what the State of Washington is thru its relationship with its water. Rivers, snow, bays, lakes, rain: Washington is often a soggy corner of the world. The book doesn’t read cover to cover, but more like a coffee table book. So much so that I wish is that I had a larger hard back addition to have around the house. The photos are perfect and the layout is beautiful.

Joshua Swainson

Nothing if not erudite, Chushcoff is a fine poet and even better photographer. I learned a lot and enjoyed every minute of this beautiful ecology lesson.

Christian Carvajal

Gorgeous photos paired with language distilled, rather than diluted, to its essence.
