Art is for Everyone

Why buy a copy when you can own an original? Declare independence from machine made and embrace handmade.

Out on a Whim features original art, blown glass and handmade pottery. Many of these vintage and antique pieces cost less than store-bought, mass produced items.

Goods for good

Additionally, a percentage of every sale goes directly to charities dedicated to programs providing food and shelter for our most vulnerable neighbors and animals.

Think Outside the Big Box Store

Purchasing antique, vintage and handmade is better for the planet and the people on it. It’s a more sustainable choice that promotes reuse, reduces consumption and supports a circular economy.

  • Reduced resource consumption: Vintage and antique items already exist, so buying them doesn't require the extraction and processing of new raw materials and manufacturing, which can be energy-intensive.

  • Less waste, less pollution: Reusing items keeps them out of landfills.

  • Durability: Vintage and antique pieces are often built to last with quality materials and craftsmanship.

  • Respect: Purchasing handmade items honors the artisans that created it and supports their craft’s tradition and techniques for future generations.

THE HANDMADE HANDMAID

Re-discovering classic vintage home decor and art is both a lot of fun and hard work. It’s always exciting to pluck a beautiful, handmade object from a pile of forgotten goods - it’s like being on a perpetual treasure hunt!

My time is spent searching auctions, thrift shops and estate sales. Researching the artists and techniques used to create the one of a kind pieces is also important. The next step is to gently clean, polish and restore items before presenting them for your home.

My goal is making clients happy by sparking nostalgia and the unexpected.

Thank you for your support!
